Easter Sunday. A wonderful day for peaceful reflection and the meditative state I get into when I am quilting. And so it was yesterday as I worked diligently and pleasantly on "Sunday in the Park."
I made considerable progress on the piece, as one can see from the picture. It is coming along really well, although I have some concerns about squaring it up when it is time to cut the sides, top and bottom. Think I will have to visit my friend Jenine - a master quilter - when that times comes.
A quiet, lovely day was spent with Dear Husband reading, doggies sleeping, and me enjoying the soothing sound of a sewing machine and pieces actually fitting together as they should. No frustration (o.k., maybe some with one part of the sashing that did not fit as well as I'd like), just happiness at my ability to create art for our home.
Onward with joy.
I don't know about turning into an artist, but quilting is an activity I really enjoy. I think it's good for me to have somewhere I can 'escape' to. I'm glad you understand the experience that these types of activity provide. Thanks for your support of my efforts. Makes me feel good!
ReplyDeleteSkating tomorrow from 9:30-11:30. Looking forward to getting back on the ice. Seems like a while since I skated, but it was only last week.
