Quilting with a Purpose & "Thank You" Thangles

I finally feel as though I have a genuine purpose for my current quilting activities. My dear, dear friend Mary's son and daughter-in-law, who live in Hong Kong, had a baby girl last week. Time to return my sewing machine, which has been slowly gathering a bit of dust. It's nice to have a reason to quilt, other than making a top for our home (not that that activity is not enjoyable, mind you). Here is a picture of the beginning of the baby quilt. I love the subtle Asian theme to this fabric. The colors are really wonderful together.

Dear Husband has been inquiring about the status of "Sunday in the Park." As today is Easter Sunday, it is an ideal time to work on this piece as spring has finally arrived in California (despite our grey weather today, blossoms are everywhere, including on our rose bushes).

Now for one of the greatest inventions of all time - Thangles! You quilters will know what I am talking about. Why didn't someone tell me about these sooner? What a fantastic way to whip out a ton of perfect squares without having to make HST the "old fashion way." Thank you to the creator of Thangles for making this process so much easier, more precise and actually fun!

I am home today, quietly appreciating the meaning of this day. I am taking the time for reflection and peace, apart from the frantic activity that I find so often surrounds me as I travel through my life.

Onward in peace, pray, and gratitude.
